Other News 

Josh O'Brien and Tyler Spencer competed at the NAGA in East Chicago, IN. 

Josh brought home a silver medal in his weight division (Adult White Belt). 

Tyler ran into a very tough competitor in his first match.  Even though he did not medal, he did well and continues to improve. 

Great job, and congratulations to Josh.

Other News 

Nick, John Glover, Josh O'Brien, Kyle Stewart, and Nate Bailey competed in the NAGA Midwest Championship held in East Chicago, IN. 

Nick won both his gi and no-gi divisions in the Directors Division and was awared a Championship Belt and a gold medal. 

John (Blue Belt Masters Division) brought home three silver medals (one in no-gi and two in gi). 

Kyle and Nate competed in their respective (white belt) teenage divisions.  Kyle won a bronze medal in no-gi and a silver medal in the gi.  This was Nate's first tournament.  He got a silver medal in the no-gi and made it to the bronze medal match in the gi division.  He did not medal, but the match went down to the wire and Nate did a great job. 

Josh did not medal, but did win three matches in both gi (where he made it to the bronze medal match) and in no-gi.  This was Josh's second tournament, and he continues to get better each time he competes.

Other News 

BJJ black belt Patrick Robinson came to Plainfield and conducted a BJJ seminar.  The seminar was a huge success.  At the end of the seminar, Patrick got on the mat and rolled with some of Nick's students.  Patrick also striped several of Nick's students.

Other News 

The following students from Pollaro's Martial Arts competed at the Hoosier Open.  Except for John, this was everyone's first tournament.

John Glover won a gold medal.

Kyle Stewart won a bronze medal.

Josh O'Brien did not medal, but fought hard and did a great job.  One of his matches was very close, coming down to a ref's decision.

Tyler Spencer looked outstanding.  He ended up drawing the jiu-jitsu player that won the gold in his weight division, but Tyler gave him a very tough match.  Also, Tyler was moved to the adult bracket.

I am proud of all four of them.  They looked great.

Other News 

Tyler Spencer, Matt Tuttle, Dave Janus, and Kyle Stewart attended a charity competition hosted by Small Axe Jiu-Jitsu.  All four did well and got a chance to compete in a round-robin format against other jiu-jitsu students.  All the money that was collected went towards a watering system for a village in Africa.

Travis Sims, Bobby Carter, and Dave Janus competed in the EGO Jiu-Jitsu Tournament.  This was Travis' first tournament.  He did a great job; submitting his first opponent with a choke.  Travis ended up winning a silver medal.  Great job and congratulations.
